- RAINWATER MANAGEMENT
BIOWATER Climapond handles rainwater from rooftops, which is harvested and led out into a sunken basin. In places where conditions allow seepage, this happens above the basin’s permanent water table.
Volume: BIOWATER Climapond can be installed in different volumes as required. A detached house with a roof area of 140 m2 needs a basin that is about the size of a garden trampoline (roughly 3-4 m in diameter and about 1 metre deep) in order to handle capacity rainfall.
Precipitation events: BIOWATER Climapond can handle up to capacity rainfall. In the event of extreme rainfall the unit has a bypass function, which ensures that the water is led to overflow areas or drains.
BIOWATER is a modular and scalable unit that consists of the following components:
- Drain inlet
- Inlet module with built-in sand trap, water brake and water distributor
- Stabilisation of planks and deep water zone
- Bottom liner
- Growing media/plants
- Outflow to gabion, if needed
The composition of components is adapted to local installation conditions and needs for rainwater management. It is possible to remove or add the individual components according to individual wishes and needs.
